Hello,

So this is a unique piece, I got it from a live auction in Japan (bonsai one) and I was told it was made by Bigei and the guy who I got it from, the seller, said he got it directly from Bigie’s kiln when it was open.

Bigei is retired.

It’s hard to tell on that back side if that is the stamp or not. So, I can’t say with %100 certainty it’s Bigei based off that stamp. The clay seems like Bigei clay.

And, Bigei pots aren’t ever faked and there wouldn’t be any reason in Japan to drop Bigei as a name for a sale as it’s not so expensive.

Knowing all that, it’s still a really cool piece. They use these for display purposes.

It’s made of clay.

Thanks,

Matt Ouwinga
