Offered here is a toy mechanical bank made of HARD PLASTIC. (A similar bank was made of cast iron in the 1890's - but this is HARD PLASTIC.) It still works. Place a coin in the dog's mouth, and press a button on the end of the base. The dog springs up (through the hoop the clown is holding) and releases the coin inside the barrel. I don't see a date, but this was made in the 1950's or early 1960's. The red base measures 8 & 3/4 inches long by 3 & 1/4 inches wide. The combined height of the clown and base is 7 inches tall, at the tip of his hat. The condition is VERY GOOD. HE IS MISSING HIS THUMB ON HIS LEFT HAND. I don't chips see any other chips or cracks. The bottom plug is still present. It works and displays very nicely. It is guaranteed to be old & original - circa "mid-century" - or your money back.
