the difference between a Proof and Proof-like Medallion?

We are often asked what's the difference between our proof and proof-like medallions. The answer is simply quality. Proof medallions are created with the collector in mind and are the highest quality. We found that some of our customers were more interested in purchasing a small, attractive memento of Alaska rather than a collector's item. For these customers they have created a proof-like version of many of their medallions. Please see the table below for the exact differences between our proof and proof-like medallions.

Medallions consist of .999 fine silver or gold in weights from 1/10 ounce to 2 ounces. From production to packaging, all medallions are handled with gloved hands and dusted with moisture-free air which inhibits tarnishing and discoloration
