Vivillon is a Stage 2 bug type that shows different color variants depending on what part of the region you are in Kalos from X and Y when you encounter it. This mechanic was mimicked in the TCG by different languages of the X and Y Base Set containing 2 versions of the Butterfly Pokemon. For example, in the English release you had the opportunity to collect either the Meadow (Pink) or High Plains (Orange) while the original Japanese version got either a Meadow (Pink) or an Elegant (purple). Most recognize the Meadow color form to be the “default” of Vivillon but don’t be fooled! This pink and blue color wave may be Pokemon’s go-to but it’s far from boring.
