She is best remembered for her portrayal of the wholesome Lola Lee in the film "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" (1938).  After being noticed by film director Philip Cahn, he was so impressed by her blonde good looks and poise, he sent for her to come from Idaho to California, and after appearing in some screen and voice tests, he arranged for her too begin a newfound career in the film industry beginning with her being personally under his supervision in "I've Been Around" (1934). For the next decade, she went on to flourish as a reputable supporting actress appearing in over 35 feature films; often typecast as wives, mothers, sisters, nieces, cousins, best friends, chorines, gold-diggers, secretaries, nurses, debutantes, playgirls, love interests, retail clerks, exotics, educators, businesswomen, heroines, and starlets. She appeared in such motion pictures as "One Exciting Adventure" (1934), "The Man Who Reclaimed His Head" (1934), "McFladden's Flats" (1935), "Another Face" (1935), "Follow the Fleet" (1936), "Two in the Dark" (1936), "You Can't Have Everything" (1937), "Dangerously Yours" (1937), "In Old Chicago" (1938), "Walking Down Broadway" (1938), "Up the River" (1938), "Little Miss Broadway" (1938), "Charlie Chan in Honolulu" (1938), "Charlie Chan in Reno" (1939), "Lucky to Me" (1939), "Slightly Honorable" (1939), "The Flying Squad" (1940), "The Shanghai Gesture" (1941), "No Place for a Lady" (1943), "Silver Spurs" (1943), "Lady in the Dark" (1944), "Dangerous Passage" (1945), "The Unseen" (1945), and "High Powered" (1945). In addition, she also appeared on Broadway in such productions as leading lady in "Stage Door," "Panama Hattie," "The Night Before Christmas," and "Round Trip".
