The Halco Twisty Fishing Lure is one of the all-time Australian favourites when it comes to metal Spinning lures, standing the test of time and challenges of tough Australian fish for decades.
The Halco Twisty Fishing Lure can be cast and retrieved, trolled or jigged and is a must for the rocks, beach, rivers and offshore, especially in the larger size models. In the smaller model twisty lures, they perform brilliantly inshore and even for particular freshwater fishing styles, which we will touch on further below.
The Halco Twisty Lure has curved ends which give the Twisty its unique irresistible action and has an outstanding wobble action when retrieved slowly. Pelagics can't hold back when they see the Halco Twisty splashing on the surface on a faster retrieve.
The Halco Twisty metal lure comes in both Chrome or Gold finish options and is made even more enticing with holographic sides, which produce a ridiculous amount of flash when used in daylight hours.

The range of twisty metal lures for sale is quite extensive from a micro jig 1.5-gram size through to a whopping 120-gram jigging lure, and many sizes in between. Here at Fishing Tackle Shop, we're now going to break this all down for you and let you know more about the colour and size options available as well as where to use Halco twisty lures.
Chrome Or Gold
First of all, let us get colour out of the way. Is one colour better than the other? The simple answer is not particularly, but sometimes they do have their place on the day, occasionally gold will work better than silver and vice versa. We, therefore, suggest where your budget allows to purchase a mix.
In saying the above in terms of anglers choice and if our sales figures were anything to go by, Chrome is the best selling colour by far out of the two colour options we sell.
Halco Twisty Chrome sales ring true for the larger saltwater sizes (20 grams and up). However, for the smaller sizes below 20 grams, it seems the freshwater anglers do seem to favour the gold colour slightly more. We guess this is due to the dirty or murky nature of freshwater in many cases.
Halco Twisty Gold generally is priced slightly higher than chrome colour, and the reason for this is Halco tackle uses 24 Karat gold plating during the manufacturing process to help eliminate problems with colour damage or fade.
Best Freshwater Sellers
While the twisty is marketed mostly towards the saltwater angler in the larger sizes, freshwater anglers have not been forgotten with size weights now available in 1.5 grams, 3 grams, 5 grams, 10 grams and 15 grams.
These smaller sizes are excellent for trout fishing by the method of slow trolling on lakes and dams or by casting and retrieving from the bank. The micro sizes will also do well for a few other freshwater species too.
Best Saltwater Sellers From the Rocks and Beach
The Halco Twisty 40g size by far is our biggest seller for rock and beach anglers. It's a size that is highly suited for targeting southern species such as Australian Salmon, Tailor, Bonito, Kingfish or small tuna and northern species such as Queenfish, Mackerel, Trevally and almost anything with an appetite and attitude!
We believe the 40 gram twisty is our best seller as it's a middle road size. It's the all-around most versatile size that we sell here at Fishing Tackle Shop and suits most cast weight ranges of fishing rods. This size scenario rings true not only for twisty lures but all metal spinning lures we sell in other brands too.
20g and 30g have their place also. Especially when the fish are feeding on smaller profile baitfish, and you need to control your casting distance.
55g and 70g sizes are fantastic for a larger class of fish. Big kingfish, tuna and other larger pelagics that can be caught off the rocks generally take to these larger sizes better. You'll also cast further distances with heavier lures.
Best Offshore Sizes
Boat anglers have an infinite number of options. Generally, you don't need to worry as much about cast distance. You could have some fun on light gear and use the smaller twisty sizes, 3 to 15 grams for spinning up slimies or other surface feeders. Cast 30-55 gram sizes at mahi-mahi around the traps or FAD's or troll the 70g Twisty size for whatever takes a swipe.

As part of this we understand that online shopping is a totally different experience to in store purchasing and there may be times and situations where you many need to return a product from our online fishing and outdoors store.
At Ocean Storm Fishing Tackle we want to try and make the return process easy and simple for you and here so have written this easy returns policy to give you clear understanding on your options . This policy is of course is in addition to all other rights and remedies that are provided as part of Australian consumer law.
This policy is our online policy and may differ to policies we have for goods purchased in person at our physical stores.
Our Returns Policy
Faulty and damaged goods on delivery
? Should you receive a product from us that is faulty or damaged that is not caused through your own fault, we will happily swap the item for you for an identical item or another of your choice should you wish. If there is any difference in price you can fix us up for the balance or if the difference in price is in your favour we can refund it or use the balance towards other items of your choice till funds are depleted.
? You may also elect for a full refund if the goods are faulty or damaged through no fault of your own.
? Goods will need to be returned and we will happily pay for the postage for the item to be returned in cases that are not your fault. Simply contact us so we can discuss.
We have been sent the wrong item by mistake?
? It is very rare for us to muck up an order but in the off chance that we do send an apple instead of an orange so to speak, simply contact us and we will rectify the situation for you pronto. You will not be liable for any return postage costs.
Change of Mind Returns
? In the case you have received your order and you change your mind as item is not fit for your purpose as long as you contact us within 30 days of your order being signed for on delivery, the goods are un-used and in original packaging we will gladly accommodate your needs by exchanging for other items you require.
? In this particular case however if it is a refund you would like instead of a swap for goods we will still happily accommodate your request but the refund you will receive will be less the postage cost from us to you displayed on invoice, or in the case where a shipping promotion or coupon was received such as free shipping or a dollar amount off shipping, the refund will be less what it would normally be to ship the item without promotion (So $10 will be withheld)
? For all change of mind returns, you will need to pay for return postage to us (registered so that there is proof of delivery) and organize your own carriage back to our store.

For bulky items such as fishing rods over 105cm, electric motors, surfboards, some tents, Spear guns etc. You will need to contact a courier company. Some that can generally assist you nationally are Smartsend, Interparcel or Pack and send
When returning your purchase please include a copy of your receipt not only for proof of purchase but so we can reference your order easily when it is returned.
Please include a short cover letter describing why you are returning the item and the course of action that needs to take place such as letting us know what items you require instead or to request refund as per our policy.
Faulty Items / Warranties
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
After a certain period of time of receiving your purchase and the product fails you may need to send your product direct to the supplier for warranty inspection. You can contact us for further advise on this should it be necessary. Goods that have failed will usually need to be inspected by supplier to determine if user error, misuse or genuine product failure whether it be minor or major.
General Points
No receipt? No problems, just contact us first so we can try and locate your purchase online to confirm you have purchased the goods through us.
If you have broken a fishing rod and more so a graphite rod, please search the internet for "graphite rod care" to understand if a rod will likely pass as a warranty or if it was caused by accidental breakage, not a manufacture fault
DVD’s and books are excluded under our easy returns policy, unless faulty.
Make sure you look after your gear! If your gear is in good order there generally should be no issues when it comes to warranty and dealing with suppliers.
We are located in Australia – If you are purchasing product to be delivered overseas we need to be upfront and honest with you – any warranty provided is for Australian consumers only and if you are overseas returning items to us it may actually not be so easy but contact us to discuss if you have any questions and we will do our best to assist you.
