This book is loaded with articles from the years of 1865 - 66 and is also profusely illustrated with many fold-out illustrations, some of which are hand-colored!

Among the articles in this book is one titled "On The Progress of Coal Mining Industry in China" by Thomas Young Hall. With this article there is a wonderful fold-out map of China showing the Coal Districts. 

This beautiful book is quarter-bound in leather. The spine features titling in gold on red morocco and on black leather. There are four raised bands with gold ornamentation on them. Covers securely attached with no cracking or splitting of hinges. All pages are clean and tightly bound. No writing in book at all and no signs of previous ownership. Book shows some general wear but remains in very good condition! This is a very rare book on a desirable topic!

This is a terrific book to add to a collection.
