Perrysburg is a city in Wood County, Ohio, along the south side of the Maumee River. Located about 12 miles southwest of Toledo, it was founded before the now larger port city on Lake Erie and has since become a suburb of the city. Initially, the town was a center for shipbuilding and commerce on Lake Erie. It was named after Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, naval commander during the War of 1812.
