How to apply our Leather Dye

Step 1
With a lint-free cloth, use our Ultimate Leather Cleaner to clean the leather, removing any dirt and grease. Apply our Leather Primer with another lint-free cloth until fully incorporated. Allow the leather to dry before proceeding to the next step.

Step 2
If the leather has any holes or rips, this is the time to use our Leather Repair Kit before moving on to the next stage. Once the repairs are complete, apply our All-in-One Leather Dye using a sponge, paintbrush or spray gun, ensuring each coat is applied thinly. Allow each coat to dry fully before applying the next. To speed up drying, use a hairdryer on a medium heat setting, keeping it approximately 30cm away from the leather. If there are any creases or folds in the leather, switch the hairdryer to a cold setting to help smooth them out. Drying time may vary depending on room temperature.

Step 3
Continue applying thin coats to build up coverage, allowing each coat to dry properly before applying the next. Additional coats will enhance coverage but will not darken the colour. Leave the colour to fully dry and cure for at least 72 hours. After this time, the item can be used as normal. To keep your leather looking its best after recolouring, use our Leather Cleaners and Leather Conditioners for everyday gentle care. However, wait at least four weeks before applying them to ensure the dye has fully cured.
