Design Description 🌞🗡️📍 The Sun is a card that is all about positivity and fulfillment. It shows a witch’s altar that is being prepared for poppet magick, a form of sympathetic magick that often is seen as a negative force, but is primarily used to bring forth health, love, prosperity, protection, and other such constructive and beneficial results. On the table itself, we see that an image of the sun is carved into the wood. The sun is the source of all life and represents such elements in this card. It is a symbol of the dawn that follows even the darkest of nights. Around the carving of the sun sit four sunflowers. These flowers are directly correlated with the sun, hence their name, and are often used in magick because of their positive energy and connection to the root chakra. There are four of them to represent the four suits of the Minor Arcana as well as the four elements. Below the sun and the sunflowers, we see the poppet, its body unmarred and clean. The doll’s face is stitched with a happy expression and blue eyes to signify its innocence and purity. Furthermore, this poppet is a depiction of the happiness and joy that comes from being intuned with your inner-self. His outstretched arms and the heart he wears on the outside of his chest are symbols of his vulnerability and openness. He has nothing to hide and seemingly nothing to fear, though that could also be his childlike naivete peering through. 📍🗡️🌞 |
