For the Baseball Hobbyist . . . 1936 - 1939 NEW YORK YANKEE DYNASTY [#27] - ARNDT LUDWIG JORGENS @1983 TCMA, Ltd. In 1983, The Card Memorabilia Associates, Ltd. (TCMA) issued this card to commemorate the post-Babe Ruth Yankee Dynasty of Gehrig, DiMaggio, Dickey & company, a crew that won 4 straight titles from 1936 through 1939, winning four world championships in the process and posting 16 wins against but 3 defeats against the National League's best. TCMA had issued a similar set in 1974. The '83 set, which included this card, was produced on a higher grade cardboard which is particularly noticeable when comparing the photo side of each card. Furthermore, the backs are brown with blue ink whereas the '74 edition had white backs with black ink. Card size is a larger-than-standard 2-3/4" by 4". It will mount (with full coverage) in standard 4-pocket album pages designed for old-style postcards and smaller. Cards in this set were not numbered by the manufacturer but cataloguers have assigned numbers based upon placing cards in the set in alphabetical order. This card is from a near-40-year-old, TCMA set which is seldom broken up to offer collectors individual cards. Start your own collection with this fine card. Condition: Excellent/Near-Mint or better - check the high-resolution scans. A colored background has been provided to assist in evaluating card corners and edges. Shipping OPTIONS are available - YOUR CHOICE of either eBay standard envelope service (ESE) which is cheaper with slower delivery or USPS Ground Advantage (more costly for single cards but much faster delivery). We also offer UNLIMITED singles (up to and including 8X10 inches in size) shipped via Ground Advantage for the one card rate. Both services include insurance but USPS Ground Advantage is considerably quicker, with fewer limitations.
