Alfred Bruckner Rabenau 18x24cm Wooden View Camera Union IV with Extended Bellows. According to the 1914 Bruckner catalog this is model "Union IV mit dreifachem Auszug" made from 'amerikanischem Nussholz' (most probably) or mahogany with messing parts. The weight of this travel camera was indicated as 4,6 kg with a max. length for photography ('auszug') of 80 cm. Condition: the wood is in good condition, the bellows need light proof treatment (a.o. the usual pinholes on corners), some screws of the bottom rail need fastening and the leather grip is missing. Little screw holes suggest smaller parts might be missing (have a close look at the photo's). Due to the length of the extended bellows the camera cannot be folded to a very compact size (as would be possible with a shorter type of bellows). The min and max length (cm) is indicated on two of the photos. The sign on the front of the camera shows it probably was purchased from a Dutch distributor (NV Fotohandel E. Fischel Jr, Amsterdam NL).
The front of the camera measures 28x34 cm (outside), the ground glass is for 18x24 cm exposures.
