You are viewing a beautifully crafted lot of 2 Carved Wood Mango Bowls Dishes with a complimentary little spoon.  These have no makers marks, but they both have the original sticker attached to the base, which read "GENUINE MONKEYPOD HAND-CRAFTED IN THE PHILIPPINES."

#MANGO: A mango tree is a symbol of plenty with its dense shade and abundant fruit. It is thought of as a Symbol Of Wealth. The shape of the mango is also regarded as a symbol of love and therefore used widely in Mehendi designs. The mango tree flowers in spring when the cuckoo sings in the tree it is laden with blossom.

#MONKEYPOD WOOD: is excellent for keeping fruits. Monkeypod is also known as Parota is an exotic tropical hardwood found in the Pacific as well as in the central Americas, it is low to medium density and it has beautiful grain colours. Mostly it tends to be a golden colour, but it can have beautiful streaks of reds and browns. Natural Wood and the forests that supply the treasured material have a long, rich place in our history that dates back 4000 years to ancient Egypt. Wood has played an important and necessary role in many cultures around the world.  We all appreciate its many uses, tactile surfaces, natural textures, and a rich array of earthy colours.

CONDITION: These 2 bowls are Vintage 90s, Pre-Owned and both are in Good Condition. There are no splits, cracks or damage to the wood on either piece or the little spoon. # Please note: The Photographs form part of the description; Super-sized photos can show up the finer details and condition.

Most of my items do not have original packaging and I use new heavy-duty bubble wrap and recycled cardboard, paper as my packing materials. I use 500 grams, 1kg, 3kg, 5kg Satchels to keep the postage cost down.

DAMAGED & LOST MAIL: All items are sent with tracking. Items over the value of $20 include Insurance. If your item is lost in the post, you need to contact Auspost directly to claim your insurance.

If you require a Fragile Service, you will need to find a courier company that offers this service. Australia Post Extra Cover Insurance will cover you for loss only. Australia Post does not offer a fragile service so items cannot be covered for damage in transit.

However, I deal mainly in Metal-ware so breakage is rare. I always add lots of extra weight to the postage cost to make sure your item is well packed making its journey to you intact. I use heavy-duty bubble-wrap and recycled boxes.

  • As New - An item that looks like it has just had its shrink-wrap removed. No visible wear, the item is flawless and intact.

  • Good - Moderate wear and tear, but still has good years left.
  • Fair - Has lived a "full life" and has a distressed look with noticeable wear.
  • Work Needed - Great bones, but will need some work or restoration.
