Hi this auction is for a large vintage Estrela games box or compendium.

Made of wood this is a square shaped box the lid slides back to reveal several compartments with games pieces.

The lid has a chess or a draft style design on one side and another unknown board game on the reverse. On the base of the box is a another board game which can be used if the boxes turned over.

Inside our various gain components these include:

-A large quantity of grey desk counters made of plastic these are numbered.

-A quantity of brightly coloured pointed end wooden sticks these look similar to the game pick up sticks.

-28 black dominoes these have a lion design on the reverse.

-A number of pointy plastic coloured counters 4 blue 2 green 2 yellow and one red.

- a small metal shaker cup, Very light weight possibly aluminium this is misshapen.

Overall is in fair condition there are signs of use all over with some general age and play related where the lead board has some wear to the edges and I do not think it is complete. Unsure what is missing as there are no extractions and I don’t know the games. There is a large gap in the centre I suspect this may originally have held chess pieces but this is just a guess.

Could easily be used for storage or topped with other pieces of vintage games.

The whole thing measures approximately 12’ across by 12’ long and is approx 1.25’ deep so is a large size and quite weighty.

Seems well-made is marked on the board the brand Estrela Reg US pat off and along the bottom ‘non-toxic conform to American standard’ and also Z.66.1. 1964 made in Brazil’. Am guessing dates to around the 1960’s if the 1964 refers to the date patented.

Great for use, retro gaming, to add to a collection or for a display or prop.
