VINTAGE SUPREME MAGIC’S "JACK & JILL PAPER TEAR"
The original idea behind this great paper tear for the kids entertainer is an old one, published many years ago by the late WILL BLYTH.
Will's idea was to use tissue paper cut-outs... We believe that we've improved on that by the use of clever art-work, especially executed by CORTH. The trick is visual, appealing, humorous ... and adaptable both in presentation and in method, to suit the individual performer. The patter, presentations and instructions are by Edwin.
THE EFFECT:
A picture of Jack and Jill climbing up the hill is shown. As the popular old nursery rhyme is recited the heads are torn from the picture which is further mutilated, the torn pieces being wadded together.
The Magician takes from their pocket a small wand (or a Magic Key, coin etc., can be used) passing this over the pieces. When these are now opened out it is seen that the pieces have joined up and the picture is restored ... but... THE HEADS ARE NOW FOUND TO HAVE BECOME REVERSED! - Jack has Jill's head, Jill has Jack's head!!!
When the laughter has subsided the Magician explains that they should have used the large Magic Wand. They now wave it, without success, eventually getting a child from the audience to assist. The child waves the Magic wand as the other children assist by shouting the magic spell.
The trick reaches its logical conclusion when the child re-opens out the paper to show that everything is now in order!
The picture can then be autographed and presented to the assisting child with your compliments.
