NAUTICA spinnaker logo 1990s Nautica Isle XL tee Regatta Series T shirt St Carib
This is a previously-owned, adult-extra-large (XL), orange T-shirt with “Nautica 83” printed on the front. It measures approximately 25 inches (from underarm seam to underarm seam) and is in good condition (Nautica brand, 100% cotton).
Nautica was founded in 1983 by clothing designer David Chu and purchased in 1984 by State-O-Maine, who changed its name to Nautica in 1994. VF Corporation purchased Nautica in 2003. Nautica took its name from the Latin word ‘nauticus,’ which comes from the Greek word for naval. Since one of mankind's first accomplishments in exploring the world was to take to the seas, a spinnaker logo was designed as a symbol of adventure and action.
