World War II Saturday Evening Post Yarns - 36 Vol. Set from 1945, NMIB
Here up for sale is a complete 36 booklet set of Post Yarns in very lightly used condition from 1944-'45. Each booklet is a 64 page pocket-sized volume containing articles, stories, and cartoons from the Saturday Evening Post, selected by the authors especially for the armed forces in WWII. The booklets have some light surface wear and some have some light edge splits and light staple rust from normal ageing. The booklets have no folds or wrinkles or other signs of being leafed through...really outstanding condition. Only volume 1 has a small torn area on the back cover, from the rather tight fit it makes in the box most likely. Includes the blue two-piece box with light shelf wear and some corner wear. Also includes the outer two-piece storage box with it's fold-out access flap. Some edge wear, dirt, and scratching is present on the outer box.
Post Yarns were sent to service men and women throughout the world and passed around booklet by booklet during World War II. They can be quite hard to find in near mint condition even as singles, let alone a complete set. Would make a very nice gift item for a war veteran or collector of WWII memorabilia.
