These Genuine Jiffy 7C Pellets are based on the ‘Container and medium in one’ principle, the Jiffy-7C pellet is used by professional growers around the globe for an array of different applications. Jiffy-7C is a clean, cost-effective rooting medium well suited to the propagation of many different crops. The product is available in many different European and North American standard size trays, strips and poly-rolls to ensure there is a pre-loaded pellet system for almost everyone. The Jiffy-7 pellets are continuously tested and upgraded to conform to the highest greenhouse quality standards.

The 7C range of Jiffy pellets is manufactured entirely from coir pith, a by-product of the coconut industry, the Jiffy 7C makes use of this abundant waste material, to create an environmentally friendly product. As the Jiffy-7C is a compressed product the environmental impact of shipping the finished product is greatly reduced.

As with the rest of the Jiffy-7 range, the 7C is supplied in a dried compressed form allowing the grower to store unused plugs until the next crop cycle without waste. Efficient storage is also a benefit as the Jiffy-7C occupies less than 1/4 the space that other discrete plugs occupy.

Jiffy-7C pellets are some of the least bulky pellets available, and are held together with a fine netted mesh, ensuring optimal water and airflow to the seedling or cutting grown in the medium. After being soaked in lukewarm water they will expand to a size of 45mm x 42mm!

Please bear in mind the above measurements of the Jiffy-7 pellets are only applicable when they are re-hydrated.

The coir plugs are easily re-hydrated, ready for use by hand, or during the normal irrigation cycle. Due to the nature of Coir, it improves the air-porosity of soil, ideal for propagation of crops under stressing conditions, or for crops that may require a higher level of air-porosity. Such as those that are often grown on the verge of drought conditions. Crops that are well-suited to the medium are Poinsettias, as cuttings can be kept turgid with high volumes of water without water-logging the medium. To aid in re-hydration if your Coir pellets become over-dry Jiffy has incorporated a specially designed wetting agent into their design, to allow for fast and uniform re-wetting of the medium.

How to use Jiffy-7 Pellets

Put the pellets in a planting tray, pot or seed tray of appropriate size.
Soak the pellets with lukewarm water and pour off any excess water.
Sow seeds or plant cuttings, and position the trays in a bright place.
Take care to avoid frost, and gradually expose the sprouts to the sun.
Never over-water them or let them dry out.
when watering them, make sure to water thoroughly.
To protect the sensitive roots make sure to completely cover the Jiffy-7 pellet in the flower bed, or pot that your are using when planting them.
