San Juan Inn Cafe

Built in 1918, the San Juan Inn Cafe served many travelers to the town but burned down only a few short years later. The California Mission Inn now stands in this location.

Although San Juan Capistrano did not officially become a city until 1961, Mission San Juan Capistrano, the Birthplace of Orange County, was founded more than two hundred years ago. Today it is a monument to California's multi-cultural history, embracing its Native American, Spanish, Mexican and European heritage.
