Superb, rare, vintage antique handcolored 1862 map, titled Map of the Western Hemisphere, Showing the Spheroidal Form of the Earth, and at bottom, The Earth, being an oblate sphereoid, an orange-shaped bal, its diameter at the equator is twety-six and a half mils greater than at the poles. Gorgeous period map, detailed North and South America, ships in the water, detailed land and ocean areas, too much to list. The superb handcoloring on the map is period, this is before color printing. Fascianting, attractive and very detailed period map. The map shows the railroads, railroad stops, cities, counties, towns, and so forth. The map is printed on thick paper, is in excellent conditon, and would frame and display beautifully. The size of the map is 11" by 13". Rare. This is an antique 1862 map and not a reprint or reproduction. Winning bidder pays $3.25 shipping domestic, more foreign.
