A tembel hat (Hebrew: kova tembel, כובע טמבל) is a hat which is an Israeli national symbol. The tembel hat was commonly used by the Jews in The Holy Land since the beginning of the 20th century until the 1970s. In Israeli cartoons it still symbols the typical Israeli. However, this hat is not known out of Israel, thus caricaturists all over the world tend to draw the typical Israeli as a Hasidic Jew.
