Offered here are TWO original (dated June 26, 1903 and November 2, 1906) military correspondence pages, each specific to the death and delivery of a Spanish American War Corporal of Troop "G" 5th U.S. Cavalry stationed at San Mateo Rizal, Philippines who died from Asiatic Cholera while there. One letter was sent to the family, hand written by a friend and fellow soldier notifying loved ones of the Corporal's misfortune. The second letter, signed by Major John B. Bollinger, typed on War Department letterhead, notifies the family of the arrival and burial of the soldiers remains, years after his death. The original letters have no envelopes, both being crisp, supple, entirely legible and presentation worthy. The early Spanish American War documents demonstrate some discoloration, dust foxing, edge rubbing/handling, corner bumping, a dog ear corner crease and normal aging; while being completely presentable for any historical archives and military collection.
