Wilfred C Wisdish FRSA Original Oil Painting Vintage British Landscape Signed

An atmospheric original oil painting by Leicester artist Wilfred C. Wisdish FRSA, depicting a colourful rural landscape with houses nestled amongst autumnal trees and distant hills.

Wisdish was a British artist born in 1910 and is recorded exhibiting his work in Leicester. A 1978 Leicester Mercury report documents an exhibition of his paintings at Vaughan College.

Painted with expressive, confident brushwork, the composition uses rich autumnal shades of russet, ochre, olive green and yellow against softer blue-grey hills. Small flashes of vivid colour through the foreground give the painting particularly good depth and movement.
