Offered here is an exceptional Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2022 “The Aztecs” Limited Edition Fountain Pen, presented in brand-new, unused condition.

Inspired by the culture, mythology and artistic traditions of the Aztec civilization, this remarkable collector’s pen combines symbolic design with precious natural materials and exceptional German craftsmanship.

The charcoal-grey barrel features a highly durable Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating and is decorated with rows of sculpted skull motifs inspired by the ceremonial walls of the Templo Mayor. Please note that “Diamond-Like Carbon” refers to the protective surface coating—the pen does not contain actual diamonds.

Genuine turquoise gemstone discs are incorporated into the cap and barrel end. The turquoise elements are engraved with important Aztec symbols, including an eagle and the feather-adorned god of the dead. The grip section is crafted from genuine obsidian, a volcanic material historically used by the Aztecs for blades, spearheads and ceremonial objects.

Its sculptural cap is shaped to evoke a cactus, referencing the ancient prophecy of an eagle perched upon a cactus while devouring a snake—the symbol that led the Aztecs to establish their capital in what is now Mexico City.

The fountain pen is equipped with a handcrafted, magnum-size 18-carat gold nib, finished with a dark ruthenium coating. It uses an integrated plunger-filling mechanism for bottled fountain-pen ink and incorporates a transparent ink-viewing window at the end of the barrel.

Only 375 fountain pens were produced worldwide, and each example is individually numbered.
