The surfaces retain a good overall sheen with some light hairlines, surface marks and signs of previous play/handling visible under direct light. Compiled and arranged by Vic Gammon, this unusual concept album explores approximately 500 years of English drinking and brewing culture through traditional songs, music and spoken readings.
The collection features a substantial cast of respected British folk performers including Peter Bellamy, Robin Dransfield, Roy Harris, John Foreman, Eddie Upton, Pam Gilder, Peter Wood, Oriana, The Pump and Pluck Band and Musica Inebriata, together with spoken contributions from William Rushton, Joby Blanshard and Michael Smee.
The extensive programme includes traditional drinking songs, historical readings, pub songs and pieces including Bring Us In Good Ale, Soldiers Three, The Malt's Come Down, Good Ale For My Money, October Brew, Charley Mopps and The British Toper.
