Wonderful original antique group portrait dated September 21, 1912, taken in Auburn, Nebraska. The photograph shows eight children ranging in age from approximately 5 to 13, beautifully dressed in period clothing.

What really makes this photograph special is the handwritten identification on the back. The children are recorded by name along with their ages and birthdays, giving this image a wonderful piece of documented family and local history.

The writing appears to read:

• Harold – 13 years old, June 30, 1912
• Richard Griffiths – would be 13 years old, October 20, 1912
• Francis – 11 years old, April 12, 1912
• Ruth Griffiths – 8 years old, May 10, 1912
• Mary – would be 9 years old, October 20, 1912
• Mildred Griffiths – 7 years old, May 17, 1912
• Mabel – would be 7 years old, October 19, 1912
• Constance – 5 years old, January 25, 1912
• The upper portion reads, “Taken Sept. 21, 1912, Auburn, Neb.”

Mounted on a decorative gray photographer’s card with an embossed fleur-de-lis style emblem. The portrait itself remains remarkably clear, with wonderful facial detail and early-20th-century clothing and hairstyles.

• Approximately 9 x 4 inches overall.

A particularly appealing piece for collectors of antique photography, Nebraska history, genealogy, identified photographs, or Edwardian-era childhood images.

Condition

Original antique photograph with expected age-related wear. Light edge and corner wear to the mount, including small corner bumps and minor surface/toning marks.

Photograph remains clear and displays very nicely. Handwritten identification remains legible on the reverse. No foul or overwhelming odors. Please review photos closely as they are part of the condition description.
