The 1981 European Cup final was won by Liverpool, who defeated Real Madrid 1–0. The match took place on 27 May 1981 at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France, in front of a crowd of 48,360 spectators.Left-back Alan Kennedy scored the decisive, winning goal in the 82nd minute. He capitalised on a throw-in from Ray Kennedy, broke past the Real Madrid defence, and blasted the ball home from a tight angle.
The win marked Liverpool's third European Cup title. It also made their iconic manager, Bob Paisley, the first manager in football history to win the competition three times. This victory extended a period of absolute English dominance in Europe, representing the fifth consecutive year an English club lifted the trophy
