Vintage Tallent Oak Cigarette Box Blanket Chest Jewellery Trinket Storage Caddy
A characterful vintage oak cigarette box by Tallent of Old Bond Street, made in the form of a miniature blanket chest.
Dating from approximately the mid-20th century, the box has a panelled front with a central carved linenfold-style motif, shaped end supports and a decoratively notched lid. Its traditional chest form reflects earlier Arts & Crafts and Tudor Revival styling.
Originally intended for storing cigarettes, it now makes an attractive jewellery box, trinket box or keepsake caddy. It could also be used for sewing accessories, desk items or other small collectibles.
The oak has developed a naturally aged colour and patina, giving the box plenty of rustic character.

Good vintage condition overall, with attractive age-related character.
There is an age-related shrinkage split to one side panel, together with minor knocks, surface marks and general wear consistent with age and use. The clean, unlined interior has some darker wood-stain marks rather than dirt. Historic glue residue and wear are visible underneath.
