The Mercury/Quicksilver 19300A3 Manual Tilt Assist Assembly is part of the outboard engine's tilt and trim support system.
It is designed to assist the operator in raising and lowering the outboard motor and to help support the engine when it is tilted or positioned for operation. It provides mechanical/hydraulic assistance so the outboard can be moved and held in the appropriate position without the need for a full electric power-trim system.
This type of manual tilt-assist assembly was used on certain Mercury and Mariner outboard motors, including various 30 HP Jet and 40–60 HP applications depending on the engine model and serial number.
