Yes, you have likely seen this Art Deco glass cocktail shaker before – but I guarantee you have never seen it in this near-flawless condition.
Hazel-Atlas Glass Corporation (1902-1964) of Wheeling, WV made this heavy molded glass cocktail shaker in the late 1930s to early 1940s. The fired-on black and red graphics of a classic 1920s-1930s hotel bellhop are one of my very favorite designs – and one of the most Art Deco designs – from the company.
This exact cocktail shaker is pictured on page 159 in Stephen Visakay's Vintage Bar Ware.
It has been in my personal collection since the early 1980s and has been very well cared for.
As mentioned, it is in pristine condition for its 90 years of age with sharp, non-faded graphics and flawless chromium domed top and screw-on cap. Save for a few minor scratches to the clear glass (that don't show), it is in museum-quality condition.
Priced commensurate with its exceptionally rare condition. Please note that I have inserted white paper to clearly show the quality of the graphics, especially since they repeat on the opposite side.
