DIAL ONLY

This is a rather nice antique long case / grand father clock DIAL only. It is signed at the bottom edge Jno Rigg Gisbrough

This is from Jonathan Rigg of Guisborough and could well be c1735 - 1750 in date. Lots of people collect just the dials these days as they do not have the ceiling height to get the complete longcase clocks in.

I ONLY have this dial, no other parts. It is just as it has come in. You will see it has had some repairs to the dial in antiquity as well. Top left corner is split on the sheet brass, it has some copper rivets in here attaching a brass plate at the back to stop it from splitting more.

Bottom two corners have cut out sections, these have been cut to fit its wooden case.

Roman main numerals and finer 5 - 60 numbers on the outer edge. These are all picked out in black paint.

The dial has a date window and 2 key holes as well as the top smaller dial which is just over 2 and a 1/4 inch dia. x just short of 1 and 1/4 inch internal dia. Central hands hole is slightly worn larger.

Looking on the back there are 3 original pins holding the circular dial in place on the front, its missing a small pin so this dial is loose at the top left.

You will also NOTICE the shafts that hold the movement to the dial have been CUT OFF !!,  why I do not know, as you will need to braise a short section on if you want to put a movement on it.

Of course it will HANG on a wall now as an antique decorative fitting if you happen to live in Guisborough or you are related to Jonathan Rigg.

The dial is 11 and 5/8ths inch wide x 12 and an 1/8th inch long. The circular dial is just over 11 inch dia. outside measurement x just short of 6 inch internal dia.

It weighs approx. 1.6 kilos.

Postage policies:

International overseas buyers please read this first - I use Global Shipping Program - GSP to send items to you.
GSP sorts any paperwork etc. which enables items to get through customs much faster than other delivery company.

GSP then decide on the cost of shipping, sales tax, and possible other charges etc. - All this information can found on the listing BEFORE bidding or buying.
I have no control over the prices that GSP set.

The shipping time is usually very quick but as you can appreciate there may be delays for any number of reasons which are out of both mine and your control. Thank you.

14 day REFUND policy with antique and second hand goods. NOT 30 DAYS.

To see ALL my other 8000+ items for sale, please click on VISIT SHOP or see other items. Strangely, both options seem to only give a limited view of what I have to offer, so to see everything I have available, click on Shop by Category which will give you a much better view.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal sized Coke can (330ml).

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 50 years.

To be fair to all bidders I do NOT end auctions early, so please do not ask for a buy it now on an auction item.
