For sale is a beautiful Japanese Meiji Era (1868-1912) bronze flower vase featuring a stunning, detailed high-motif of a leaping carp.  It dynamically depicts the carp leaping up from the water surface with beautifully sculpted splashing waves.  Notably, upon close inspection, the eye of the carp is exquisitely crafted with a combination of traditional Japanese silver and SHAKUDO inlay (a precious copper-gold alloy).  This double-metal inlay technique gives the eye a lifelike appearance, showcasing the high-level craftsmanship of the Japanese metalwork.
The bronze flower vase is approx. 27cm (5 5/8") high, 13.3cm (5 1/4") in diameter, 6.7cm (2 5/8") across the rim and it weighs 1150 grams.
The vase is in good overall antique condition, and it has a natural aged patina.  There are signs of age and usage such as small nicks, marks, scuffs, water stains / discoloration, a spot(s) of corrosion, dust, etc.  No major cracks or functional defects.  Please refer to the photographs to determine the overall condition and the quality of the metal work, motif, detailing, natural patina, size, etc.
