Spearhead in the West Third Armored Division Haynes Dugan 2001 Second Edition

Spearhead in the West – Third Armored Division (Second Edition, 2001) by Haynes Dugan and Dan Peterson is a modern, carefully assembled history of one of the U.S. Army’s most hard‑driving armored divisions of World War II. First published in 1991 and expanded in this 2001 edition, it traces the 3rd Armored Division’s path from training through Normandy, the breakout across France, the Hürtgen Forest, the Battle of the Bulge, and into Germany, using a mix of narrative, maps, and a heavy concentration of photographs. The tone is straightforward and documentary, focusing on what the division did, where it went, and how its units were committed in combat.

This volume is distinct from the anonymous, WWII‑era divisional history that shares a similar title; Dugan and Peterson’s work reflects later research, veteran input, and a more structured presentation of the division’s campaign. For readers interested in following the 3rd Armored’s movements with visual context—unit snapshots, battlefield scenes, and period imagery—this edition functions as both a readable campaign history and a substantial reference on the “Spearhead” division’s role in the European war.

Includes a newspaper clipping about Battle of the Bulge 75th anniversary ceremony.

Book is in Very Good collectible condition with little wear or shelf wear, and a 1 inch scratch on the front cover.  Otherwise, covers and pages are square, clean, bright, and unmarked.  Interior looks excellent.  Binding is sound.  Please see pictures as they are considered part of the condition description.  I take numerous photos of the actual item and describe it as accurately as I can so you don't have to risk your buying decision on stock photos, generic condition descriptions, insultingly ridiculous AI sales pitches, or "See pictures for condition" making you ferret out any flaws.

A portion of this sale goes to a US Food Bank in honor of my father-in-law who was a director of a food bank.  Many people experience hunger on a regular basis and they rely on food banks.  Natural disasters such as flooding, tornados, fires, and hurricanes make their situation worse.  Thank you for supporting them with your purchase.

SATISFACTION GUARANTEED: If you are unhappy with any aspect of this transaction, please contact me immediately. I will work hard to keep buyers happy and to resolve the rare problem promptly.

QUALITY PACKAGING: I care about your purchase!  I package books and DVDs protected in plastic sleeves for water protection and always boxed carefully for safe and secure shipping.  There are cheaper, easier, and faster ways to package items for shipping but the risk of damage during shipment is not worth it for you or me.  I am proud of the specific positive feedback I have received related to packaging, accurate descriptions, and customer care.

USPS MEDIA MAIL: I ship books and DVDs by USPS media mail.  Media mail is generally reasonably fast, but can rarely take up to 8 days, so please be patient.  Shipping outside of the U.S. is handled by the eBay Global Shipping program.  I ship to the eBay international shipping clearing house in Kentucky and eBay takes it from there.  eBay adds on the extra cost for international shipping and I have no control over that cost or how long it takes.  eBay should give you a shipping estimate/total on the listing page for your particular order.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK: If you believe you would be happy to purchase something from me again in the future, please consider leaving me positive feedback for this purchase as it really helps small eBay sellers like me by helping other buyers buy with confidence.  I leave feedback for buyers once they have posted feedback for me.  Let's do this together!

Enjoy!
