Born in 1941 in Chiba Prefecture. Received instruction in kendo from Fukuoka Meihanshi, who graduated from a monastic school. Worked for the Metropolitan Police Department from Sosa High School. Served as Chief Kendo Instructor of the Metropolitan Police Department and retired in 2000. From the beginning, he has been involved in the enactment of the basic kendo training method using a wooden sword, and is also working to popularize it. Currently, Managing Director of the All Japan Kendo Dojo Federation and a lecturer at the Nippon Budokan Budo Academy. Kendo Hanshi 8th Dan.
