“Lighthouses of Ukraine” is a postal series launched by
Ukrposhta in 2009 and continued in 2010 and 2020, dedicated to the navigational
objects of Ukraine that help ships not to get lost in the stormy sea.
This year's
postal issue features the following lighthouses: Ai-Todorsky Lighthouse (1835,
Black Sea, Gaspra village, Crimea, Ukraine), Chauda Lighthouse (1886, Black
Sea, Cape Chauda, Crimea, Ukraine), Shagany Lighthouse (1944, Black Sea, near
Prymorske village, Odesa region), Bilosaray Lighthouse (1811, Azov Sea,
Bilosaray Spit, Donetsk region), Berdiansk Upper Lighthouse (1878, Azov Sea,
Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia region); Ruskyi Zadnyi Lighthouse (1863,
Buzka-Dnipro-Lyman Canal, Ruska Spit, near the village of Lymani, Mykolaiv
region).
The format of each
stamp is 24.36x52.2 mm.
Protection of
brands in the block: fragments of beacons glow in UV rays.
