Large Chinese Carved Cherry-Red Bakelite Vase with Qianlong Mark

An extremely rare, large, early 20th-century Chinese carved cherry-red Bakelite vase.

The vase is richly decorated with raised panels depicting stylised ancient Chinese ritual vessels, surrounded by taotie masks and geometric leiwen patterns.

Tested with Simichrome.

The base bears an incised four-character Qianlong mark.

In excellent condition.
