This is a factory AM FM Radio out of a 1968 Ford Mustang or Mercury Cougar. The Bendix model number is F8TBZ. This radio was a factory option in 1968 Mustangs and Cougars. It will also fit 1969 Mustangs and Cougars with the only difference between 68 and 69 being the knobs. This radio is also the same as 1970 Mustang and Cougar models except those radios have either "MUSTANG" or "COUGAR" printed on the lens. This is a very hard to find factory Mustang/Cougar radio.
This radio is in unrestored original condition as shown. The lens has a clean crack down the center as shown which may be repairable with the proper glue. All pushbuttons and dials work as they should. The case of the radio is also very clean with no corrosion, dents, or other damage. The wiring connectors are intact and in good condition with the lamp wire removed as shown With some work, this radio would be right at home in the nicest of cars.
I tested this radio and it does power up and plays on the AM band. When on FM, I can hear the speaker click on when the radio is turned on but I don't get any other sound. This radio will need to be serviced before use. I decided to sell it as is is since many guys like to use their trusted radio guy and it gives the buyer the option of adding bluetooth, etc.
