Vintage Framed Oil Painting – After Sir James Guthrie ‘To Pastures New’ – Glasgow Boys Style cottage core

A charming vintage hand-painted oil painting depicting a young goose girl herding geese through a peaceful countryside landscape. The composition appears to be an amateur interpretation inspired by Sir James Guthrie’s famous painting To Pastures New, one of the best-known works associated with the Glasgow Boys movement.

Beautifully presented in a decorative frame, this is a lovely decorative piece for anyone who appreciates traditional Scottish art, rural scenes, or vintage home cottage core décor.

Measurements:

* Approximately 22 x 17 cm (including the frame).

Condition:
Overall in good vintage condition with age-related wear consistent with its age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.

The frame is becoming loose and would benefit from being secured properly. The previous owner has used parcel tape on the back, which could be replaced with framer’s masking tape or frame sealing tape for a neater finish. This has been reflected in the price.

Please note this is not an original Sir James Guthrie painting, but appears to be an amateur work created after To Pastures New, making it an attractive decorative piece inspired by the Glasgow Boys school.
