This vintage Majex men's mechanical wristwatch, dating approximately from the late 1950s to the 1960s. It features a classic Swiss 17-jewel hand-winding movement and an Incabloc shock protection system.

The Sourcing: Marchand & Jobin imported high-quality Swiss movements and watch components from specialized Swiss manufacturers—including brands like Minerva and Recta—assembling or retailing them primarily for the British and Commonwealth markets.

The Legacy: Majex watches were well-regarded everyday timepieces during the mid-20th century, praised for blending robust Swiss mechanical engineering with clean, traditional designs. The brand eventually faded during the "Quartz Crisis" of the 1970s and 1980s.

Watch Details

The Dial: The face features bold Arabic numeral indices, a clean white/silver dial track, and a "T SWISS T" marking at the bottom. This marking indicates that the hands and hour dots originally used Tritium for nighttime luminosity.

The Case: Based on the visual wear pattern, this watch features a base-metal bezel/case with chrome plating that has worn away over time, showing the exposed brass underneath. The case back is screw-down stainless steel.
