The set is beautifully hand-painted with standard Kutani iron-red (akae) accents and extensive gold gilt overlays. Each piece features detailed cartouches depicting traditional Japanese figures, including scholars, immortals, and geishas, set against finely dotted and floral gold grounds.

Teapot Base Mark: Marked with a red-ground gold inscription reading "Dai Nippon Kutani" (Great Japan Kutani) followed by the artisan/factory mark (visible in image.png and image_7.png).

Includes: 1 x Side-handled teapot with lid, 4 x Eggshell porcelain teacups.

Condition Report:

The set is in lovely vintage/antique condition overall with vibrant colours. No structural cracks or major chips noted to the porcelain bodies. There is minor, age-appropriate rubbing and wear to the gold gilt paint, most notably on the teapot lid finial (as seen in image_10.png) and along the rims of the cups.
