is designed to determine the azimuths of directions and is used for orientation, in reconnaissance work and in visual survey.

BSh-1 - a circular compass, the azimuth ring of which is fastened to the magnetic needle and rotates with it. The zero division of the ring is combined with the southern end of the magnetic needle. For sighting, there are folding diopters. The eye diopter is equipped with a magnifying glass and a prism, through which, simultaneously with the sighted one, the reading along the azimuth ring is made.
