This is the illustrated Knickerbocker Press edition published by G.P. Putnam's Sons, with color plates by Blendon Campbell and interior page decorations by Margaret Armstrong, one of the most celebrated American book cover designers of the gilded age. Armstrong's distinctive MA monogram is visible on the front cover, and her botanical gilt rose design covers both the front board and spine in heavy gold stamping.

The endpapers carry her signature terra cotta vine and lattice pattern. The Rosary was the number one bestselling novel in the United States in 1910 according to the New York Times, and this Putnam illustrated edition is the collectible format, not the plain trade printing. Copyright 1909, this copy is a 1910 or 1911 reprint. Margaret Armstrong covers are actively collected and documented in a dedicated bibliography, and her books have been exhibited at the New York Society Library and the Library of Congress.
