This is a vintage Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku) featuring a painting of tanuki (raccoon dogs). It is a traditional artwork mounted on patterned brocade fabric with roller ends.

The painting depicts two tanuki in a field of tall grasses and small blue flowers under a full moon, rendered in ink and light colors. The artwork includes a signature and a red vessel-shaped seal. The piece is framed by a golden-toned patterned brocade mounting.

The scroll is in vintage condition, showing signs of aging and historical use. There are visible creases, wrinkles, spotting (foxing), and stains on both the painting and the fabric mounting. There is significant fraying and separation of the silk fabric on the upper back of the scroll.
