This is a beautiful rainbow obsidian puffy heart from Mexico. There are well-defined pink and green flashes that alternate in pattern which becomes evident when you rock the heart back and forth under the sunlight or spotlight. Both sides of the heart have flashes. Unless you are looking for the flashes under the light, it looks plain black. Rainbow obsidian is a natural, silica-rich volcanic glass featuring a shimmering, iridescent sheen of colors (purple, pink, green, blue) when polished and exposed to light. Formed by rapid cooling lava with microscopic magnetite nanoparticle inclusions.
