Wonderful local history image showing crowds, original shopfronts and pre-redevelopment Barnsley street scenes.

The Boy with the x  on both photos is Paul Habbeshon aged 16 who joined the Reme shortly after this event & lived locally.

An excellent South Yorkshire social history photograph featuring the Sheffield Street / Peel Street area of Barnsley in the mid-1950s.

The area photograph is a modern colourised photo with a arrow showing the coop position that has been demolished.

I can't find any information of the hardware store ,& I estimate it to be further down the street & across the road from the co op.
