Jill Dando (1961-1999) was an English journalist and newsreader, known for her work with the BBC. On 26th April 1999, Dando was shot dead outside her home in Fulham, prompting the biggest murder inquiry conducted by the Met Police, and the country's largest criminal investigation since the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. The case remains unsolved after the original suspect was acquitted after spending eight years in prison for the murder.
