This item is a Gzhel blue and white porcelain caviar or trinket dish handcrafted by the master Gzhel artist V. Novinkova. It features a distinctive lid topped with a finial shaped like a leaping fish. The serving bowl itself is designed with a large, scalloped rim reminiscent of waves. The dish can be used to serve caviar or herring, or as a whimsical, lidded trinket box. Possibly a reference to the Russian fairy tale "The Golden Fish ("Zolotaya Ribka").
