ABOUT THIS LISTING:

**********************************************

Calling all antique porcelain lovers and dog devotees!  Here is an absolutely stunning, highly coveted 19th-century European porcelain poodle figurine that screams old world charm. Masterfully crafted during the late Victorian era, this piece is a brilliant homage to the ultra rare 18th century English Chelsea porcelain models.  This isn't your standard smooth figurine, it features the iconic highly sought after confetti or coleslaw textured glaze. Artisans painstakingly applied fine, crumb like bits of porcelain to the body to perfectly replicate the dense, curly coat of a prize winning groomed poodle. Standing proudly on a beautifully hand painted, mossy green plinth base, this charismatic pup is captured holding a tiny intricately detailed yellow brown basket in its mouth!  Flip to the back of the base and you'll find the ultimate prize that a striking hand painted gold anchor mark. This historicist mark was proudly stamped by elite late 1800s European workshops (like the legendary Edmé Samson of Paris or premier Thuringian factories) as a badge of exceptional craftsmanship and historical tribute.   The crumb coat confetti fur looks spectacular under display lights.  The iconic gold anchor instantly catches the eye of seasoned porcelain hunters.  Poodles with baskets are among the most beloved and collectible motifs in antique animal ceramics.  This is in beautiful antique condition with this little pup has been incredibly well-preserved over the last century. There are no major chips, cracks, or structural repairs. The glaze retains a gorgeous glassy luster, and the hand painted green accents remain wonderfully vibrant.
