A well used set.  

I am unable to find this maker or date, so will leave that up to the buyer to have all the fun. 

There is a label inside for "Henry Herrmann" manufacturer.  Not sure if that's the original one, or not.  BUT, 5 of the surgical instruments are stamped "H HERRMANN" (see photos of them and detail). Above it is a satin frabric pull to open the upper compartment, which will not fasten closed (needs minor repair?).

The box contains 11 instruments & needles in case. 

There are 6 instruments not stamped, as well as a container that holds needles. 

Condition of the box is well worn, used, has staining, some unknown fabric? stuck on the bottom. The box is nicely dovetailed.  There is no key.  The box is showing dings to the finish, staining wear on all edges & surfaces. Hinges holding nicely.  

The box does not snap shut, because the key is supposed to close it.  Unfortunately, there is no key that came with this to us.

Inside the upper lid, which opens (does not close, missing a catch?) are 2 other instruments.  Note the tearing of one of the leather fasteners there. 

The bottom of the box contains the remainder of all the instruments.  

Condition of all instruments are used, showing wear, may have rusting, dirt, heavy use.
