This is an original document ,New London county, Norwich, CT. dated December 30,1760, where Peter and Sarah Williams have released all titles and claims to their Grandfather, David Tracy to their uncle, David Tracy. Signed at bottom by Peter Williams, Sarah Williams, Samuel Morgan and Daniel Morgan.Signed on back by Isaac Huntington, Town Clerk. Document is 8x10, folds, acid free repairs on back on splits, overall good condition.
Samuel Morgan, son of James Morgan and Bridget, was born 16 Dec 1705, in Preston, CT. He was baptized by Rev. Treat at the First Congregational Church of Preston on the same day. He married Elizabeth Forsyth 19 Sep 1728. He was town clerk of Preston, and died in office, 29 Dec. 1769, age 65.
Capt. DANIEL Morgan m. Elizabeth Gates, dau. of Joseph, of Preston, 24 Sept. 1730, settled in Preston, now Griswold, where he died Saturday 16 Oct. 1773, "at 7 o'clock 37 minutes" P. M. says the family record, age 61, and his widow, Elizabeth, born 1 March, 1713, died Feb. 11, 1793, age 80.
Isaac Huntington (February 5, 1688-February 24, 1764) was the son of Christopher Huntington of Norwich, Connecticut. He was a weaver by profession and held various civic positions. He was a justice, a representative from his town to the Connecticut General Assembly, and succeeded his father as town clerk (1726-1764). Huntington was a member of several committees on Indian affairs for the Connecticut legislature.
